Arizona Chickens

Ok Thanks to Mary Mavros (on Tucson clucks) asking about egg production phone app, I have asked my brother in law to make me an app. He can do android and possibly iphone. WHAT would we like to see on this app? egg production per flock, egg production vs temps, egg production by breed, egg production vs feed costs, amount of feed per pen. what else??

Up near the place I'm buying, I saw a sign on the corner that said it was a double wide mobile home on 5 acres for sale OWC. There is a phone number, but I did not call. I assume this is the same general north Avra Valley area, I can get the phone # if you are interested.
sure it cannot hurt to check it out. My husband has his VA loan so we plan on using that to get our new abode. :)

I just discovered that someone took my treadle feeder plans and is mass producing them in China and selling them in Pet Club stores. It makes me sick.

UGH! So sorry to hear that. But not surprising. I guess you can be proud someone thought that is was that good, to do that. Small compensation, I know. In this world, everything has to have copyright or it is stolen.

Yeah, I kinda saw it coming when I first posted the plans on BYC. I've managed to stop a few people from selling the plans online, but this different. And I even remember trying to imagine at the time how I would feel if someone took the plans and used them to mass produce something but in the end I didn't think it would happen. It looks like the manufacturer is selling them all over the place, not just Pet Club. According to Nifty, anything we post here on BYC is copyrighted, so I'm not sure what kind of recourse I would have. It just stinks that you want to do something to help people with a specific problem and along comes someone who would take advantage of that.

If they are being built in China, not sure what you can do. Huh, I didn't know posting here automatically put a copyright on it, where is that stated?

Quote: Built in China for a guy in South Bend, IN. The copyright issues came up with talks I had with Nifty (Rob, owner of BYC) when I first found people selling my plans using my actual pictures. He said that anything we post on BYC is copyrighted by BYC. Any pictures you post here cannot be removed even if you decide to leave. You can find the BYC terms of service here. I find some parts of the BYC tos a bit disturbing.
