I don't remember seeing any of that particular seed in the BYC seed box.. @sill is poping by for tea & chciken/garden talk.. Plus going threw the seed box.. Will look again.. Good luck trying to grow in a chciken run. We got a above ground fruit stand from sprouts.. I bent hardware cloth in a dome shape to keep out the scratching little brats.. I plan on planting lettuce & other plants with a small root system..

I mostly want to grow Texas Lilacs in my run because the seeds can be eaten by the chickens and they wont destroy the bushes and there droppings wont kill it, plus they grow very good in hot weather.

I think @City farm has it right now and it's about to head to the west side of the state in a couple weeks with @kpgoldstar . That's a bummer about the grapes, they've done well here in Tucson. I have them on drip irrigation, which probably helps a lot.

How would i go about getting sent to me when its in my area? I just use to water them twice a day, i have corn, zuccini and cucumbers growing in my garden from seed my tomatoes didnt grow from seed this year, soon to plant beans, squash and pumpkin.

You have to travel to get the seed box directly from another member; It's too big to send it cost-effectively in the mail. Plus, it makes us meet each other and I think that's a good thing. If you have extra seeds or can collect some from what you're growing, save them aside to add to the box. Here's what it looked like when it departed my house a couple months ago.

That is such a pretty sight... Love all those seeds!! e We just hosted a 4th of July seed box exchange, so many people were out of town we will do another one once it is cooler.. If anyone would like the box please P.M. Us.. Sill and I have fun tea parties & depending on the time ya all are welcome to come by.. It is best if we do it all at one time.. 1 hour minimum.. Seriously, there are so many seeds.. Our home is very small so in this heat only a few at a time.. We entertain outside in the garden mostly.. So cooler weather, we plan on doing a beer brewing, smoked meat, chicken, garden talk..roasted marshmallows, s'mores in October..

What do you guys think--too hot for a batch of Cornish cross chickens now? I've got that broody hen that I never got around to breaking...and a vacation mid-September. That's just about enough time to raise a little batch of meaties. I planned on starting up again mid-Sept, but now seems like a decent opportunity.

I got the notification @Gallo del Cielo . See? You can teach old dogs new tricks! BTW, no dogs, cats, ferrets, goats, pigs here. Just my 4 chickens!
I am planning to pick the seed box up from @City farm the weekend of Aug. 2 and deliver it to (or meet up with) whoever wants it sometime around the 1st week of September. If anyone else wants it in the meantime, just let me know where it travels so I can get it probably on Sunday the 3rd.

I would wait until at least September. Cornish X have enough problems without dealing with our heat!
