Another broody hen!
I think this would be the 9 th one this year. We have a small flock.. The silkie decided to be a mom 4x. Cheryl is one of our families favorite..

We got out third hen laying yesterday. One of my Barred Hollands started giving us white eggs. This morning we had 3 eggs. Since my first one started laying (Barred Rock) we have had 17 eggs in 19 days from her.

And as I'm typing this my wife informed me that a fourth started laying today

5 more to start laying. Can't wait!!!

could we have Cheryl lay on some of my fertilized barnyard egg mixes with black Copper Marans? I have no incubator and it would be sure fun to see the chicks!!

I use warm water in a sink, and baby shampoo, with a drop of dandruff shampoo. Lather and rinse, section by section, then wrap in a towel and cuddle until dry and sleepy. Then popped into a cage to be safe and warm until showtime. 

Do you use a cage with bedding or a wire bottom?

I found my 22 week old BR in the nest box today(no egg yet) and my 27 week old BCM's comb is growing bigger and red!  
First egg excitement never gets old!  lol

beckyh - how is little amy doing now? what a find! don't beat yourself up because you didn't find her the first time, congratulate yourself for saving her from that hawk!

I couldn't help it, I did feel terrible that I missed her the first time.  I feel better now, though because she seems to be recovering.  She is standing up all on her own for a few minutes and acts like she wants out of her box.  She is still eating well and finally pooped a couple of times today.    It's absolutely amazing considering the shape I found her in!
Of course I still have to worry about whether her "mama" will take her back or not.  I think I might take her outside for a few minutes today to remind Penguin that she has a 4th chick. I'm sure she isn't strong enough to stay out there, but a visit would probably be OK and might even perk her up. 

Does Amy's mama penguin still accept her? And is Amy still doing well and on the mend?

I took Amy out today for about 15 minutes to get some fresh air and a little exercise and let Penguin and the other chicks out at the same time. Everything went great! Penguin pecked at the sore spot on Amy's wing just a little but didn't continue. Amy walks delicately and with a little limp, but she is getting around ok. She opened her wings a couple of times as if to stretch them and I only saw her fall over once. She got right in there with the other chicks and nobody seemed to mind. I'm going to take her out there a little bit more each day until I feel like she is strong enough to go back out for good. I still can't believe the progress she has made in only a few days.
