Have any of you had any issues with your hens developing Fowl Pox? I'm a newbie owner bought two six month old hens from a organic farm about a week ago and i (think) one of my girls has Fowl Pox. She was perfectly healthy until yesterday. I haven't noticed any mosquitos around in the last few weeks but they were terrible in the summer. Just wondering if its going around here. 

Yep, lot's of chicken parents that I know said their spoiled little brats have fowl pox.

I had a really nice visit today with @CityFarm
and @Sill
who came down from Tempe, first to visit Gallo and then over to me. They were not able to coordinate with some of the other folks in Tucson, unfortunately. However because of that, the SEED BOX is now in my possession and I have a lot to add to it and hope to pass it on to @cyborg
or @MagicChicken
at the next poultry meeting, so I hope at least one of you is there to take it.

I'll be there. I have a bunch of acorns to put in the box, and some Mexican papaya seeds.

Ooooo, Mexican papaya. I guess we will ave to make it down there for that!! Or save some for us?

What a beautiful day it was with @Gallo del Cielo & @desertmarcy
I came home with Cuban oregano, thanks @Sill for doing the research on what type it was.
I looked at so many different ones, I got tired.. I do hope to be able to make it grow. If not we will have to head back that way for more.. Along with the fig tree cuttings.. I pruned off all of the leaves, cut the branches into smaller pieces. The wrapped up the branches in damp newspaper. I put them into a Baggie with a small air hole. It is inside the fridge foe 24 hours.. Then it will go ontop of the fridge, or by a warm window for 3 week.. If there is some growth I will post a photo.. Then I will put the cuttings into a clear plastic cut with %40 vermiculite and %60 perlite..then after the larger roots take hold, into a pot.. & away we go..

Desertmarcy shared some type of mallo with us.. Yeah!! Thank you both for taking time out of your busy schedule's... Both wonderful properties.. AND, seriously, if anyone is thinking of preserving one of desertmarcy's heritage bird lines, it would be well worth the effort! Girl your birds are absoulutly georgous..

I am answering for LKD. She has been traveling around in a camper and lifts their portable home one and off a platform when she moves to a different site. 

Oh, does she need someone to foster her girls? Could someone make a ramp so she doesn't have to move the cage?

A few on here have told their story about deep litter, the mold can be toxic and deadly to your flock. Along with whoever is cleaning it at the time.. They mentioned how sick they got after.. If I were you I would do more research.

After doing some extensive reading and based on our climate, I think I will go with sand flooring with use of Sweet PDZ. Thanks for info.

I believe the mallow is Indian mallow, Abutilon palmeri. At least it matches all my goggle search photos. It is a native plant to the SW U.S.

I was out earlier breaking up the seed pods in 2 different location's. Thank you for the name. !!

OK, CF, I put some seeds aside for you. Mexican papaya is about the same as Hawaiian papaya, but the Mexican tends to have larger fruit, roughly 2X in size. I suppose chickens would enjoy it if you could sneak some off the table. Papaya seeds are used to make meat tenderizer, so I don't think I'd let them have any of the seeds.
