nothing. It makes a mixed breed. the silver will actually dilute the red on the babies and take them farther away from the "standard" (air quotes because they aren't recognized yet, but do have a standard.) You can't make BLRW by crossing gold and silver either... The blue laced red is a coloration created by crossing a couple different breeds and years upon years of work. Now we have BLRW and the heritage breeders (like me) are working to a standard of color, type etc. I am just learning, but they are my pure breed I am focusing on.
Normally I'd agree with you, but in this case the trees have the same number of peaches that they have in past years, they are just a lot smaller, and started ripening almost a month early.
I am nominating myself for a post in the Chicken intervention part of this page. I was looking at my babies and I have 78 babies from 3 days to 4 weeks and 44 on the way between three breeds and 12 eggs in the bator
LOL I will be driving to Ca to pick up about a dz more babies in two weeks. I am going to visit family and will get Reese line Cream Crested Legbars while I am there. Sometime the end of this month or early next month I will be getting 10 lavender Maran chicks and 18 blue copper some of which I will be selling. Don't need or want 18 but it was the minimum orderAnd I thought I was bad! I've got 41 chickens outside, plus another 40+ eggs in incubation right now.![]()
wow very nice paddockThe new run extension is finally done!I have a few small security things to deal with before they can be outside unsupervised for an extended period of time. After taking these pics I had to put up some green plastic 1x1" mesh because I found out my silkie can squeeze through the wire fencing on the parts where I haven't doubled it up yet. I was planning on lining the whole thing with the plastic mesh anyway because last year the wild birds were a pain in the butt and I want to keep them out this time. I also need to bring the wood down to the ground further in a few spots where the ground is uneven and there's small gaps. I think I'll just nail in some 2x6s or something to fill them out. The coop is still getting revamped this week. It's getting all new sand and a full disinfecting wash and a new set of roosts to hopefully accommodate all the different breeds since my last silkie couldn't get up with the other girls. I'll be starting the lowest one much lower than the old ones and I'm going with 2x4s instead of round poles this time. They should be set up to move outside in the next week.![]()
