Arizona Chickens

that looks like a good compliment for a way they're used to drinking naturally! I like the idea! Definitely helpful in case my chickens play stupid should I try it out.
I'm not sure if I know how to make it work though.

Zip tie it to your fencing and add a water hose.

Yucca is only 33 miles from kingman. Right in the middle between kingman and lake havasu.
I spent Lots of money on those nipple buckets that they say all chivkens will learn to use. Weellll I must have stupid chickens because they won't go near them. I had to buy two of them because I have some tall chicks and some short banties. They don't use either one. How do you teach a chicken

If you can let the nipples drip a little and the chickens being the curious creatures they are will try them out and learn there is water there!!

If you end up using the heat lamp much or even at all since it's warming up, I put a hand towel on the opposite side to where it's pointing to so it doesn't catch my box on fire, and I've gone down to a lower wattage by buying different bulbs, red reptile ones from Amazon. I don't use 250watts but something like a hundred watts or so. Thermometer like the others have suggested is helpful. They offer in 150 or 75 watts from zoo med. Se the Amazon link below. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000255OUE/ref=yo_ii_img#

This is precisely why I haven't tried the system yet. I'm confident that one of my flocks is smart enough to figure it out, but my other two...not so sure. I'll probably break down and try it at some point though because changing water every day is time consuming and tedious.

I used a laser light cat toy to train my chicks and chickens to use the 5 gallon buckets with the water nipples on the bottom. Aim the light at the ground and they'll follow it all the way to the water nipple. Took my flock a couple minutes to learn with this method.

On another note, the doves around here have learned if 3 land on the treadle feeder it opens! They are going through my feed fast! I had one climb in and get stuck inside when I walked out, was tempted to leave it in there.
