No, haven't heard from @a little chiken in a long time. She's been on my mind lately. Hope all is well.
Are you close to them? Didn't they have alpaca or Lammas ?
If it's who I'm thinking of, she posts on Tucson CLUCKS on Facebook a lot.
Super woman..e
When we come to Tucson, Marana.. We have a gift for you.. I will text you a photo of it, can you recieve photo's on
your cell phone..
No, but can you email it?
Yes I will.. How old are they? I think I have a plan to quarantine them.. Have you held them, meaning are they skittish ? I know they are sweet
I didn't want to bother them in the heat of the day ... I will try tonight. They are about seven weeks old. I have held them, but as I mentioned, I'm a bit the death hand from above. They do warm up quickly.
I love you photo's & happening's around your property!! Do you stil get the peacock visiting daily??I've already told you about Queenie our more than cheeky leghorn. Here's another....... This is the second egg she has laid on hubby's power chair. She loves to come into our back porch area. This time he noticed she was scratching the chair so he went and got her a tshirt. Scratched it into a suitable shape in no time. Then in minutes she laid her egg. Last time the chair was in his shop with a tshirt already on it. Then she invited company in to see her egg singing her egg song. You can tell she's already hot. It has already hit 106 here today.![]()

In a large pan, about 1 inch of water, bring to a simmer, almost boil.. add the poacher to the water, with the egg inside. .. With regular egg's wait about 1 1/2- 2 minutes. With the larger duck egg's not sure. But I might try 3 minutes or less.. The hoop on the top makes it easy to remove from the pan.. You can eat strait away from the porcelain cup.. Kinda cool, huh
Scratch that process... I checked after 3 minutes with a regular egg.. Not done at all. So now I am adding more water & boiling. After 4 1/2 minutes it started to change.. I will have to get back to you on this..In a large pan, about 1 inch of water, bring to a simmer, almost boil.. add the poacher to the water, with the egg inside. .. With regular egg's wait about 1 1/2- 2 minutes. With the larger duck egg's not sure. But I might try 3 minutes or less.. The hoop on the top makes it easy to remove from the pan.. Ugh, I just came in and showered after stacking my last feed order of 100 bags. That's 5000 pounds picked up and moved and stacked inside by me! The pallets were sitting outside for 2 days and I finally mustered the energy to do it. I can't do it during the day, too hot, too much sun, too many flies waiting to get inside. So after dark it was. This "hobby", which has become a full time job, has certainly gotten out of hand here! I also took all the chicks out of the hatcher. Every one of them hatched. They were due yesterday and I hadn't even looked to see what hatched, just a quick glance yesterday to see, yes..there are some out. That's how nut-sy it is for me right now!
Time for some ICE CREAM and home grown PEACHES!
Throw some sprinkles on that ice cream. You earned it!![]()
@FeatherPugs check out this spot the girl's decided to lay, I put a bunch of leaves in there one day, and sure enough I come back a few days later and there's an egg. So then I just covered it with one of the feed bags, they love it.. after all the hard work I did getting them nesting boxes. My next project was adding curtains.
