Arizona Chickens

Yes I have adds out of craigslist and will take some to thw swapmeet if I have too.I had to get a job and now their care and it is really hard on him. I love my chickens but have to put him first. I have to sell about 54 chickens to pare down to half and have to do it pretty quickly. Hope to find buyers who will care for them with love too
Where are you located and how much are you asking?

Oh, here is a fun photo of the girl's playing with their treat!! Then relaxing in the shade.. They are finally coming out from the corner.. Still won't come close, bit hopefully someday.. Ther is one that is a bit larger that could be a drake.. Hope not though.

They are so cute! Are they eating water hyacinth?

Can ducks get the same mites that chickens do?

How precious! I have found that my ducks have gotten more friendly over time. One loves to follow me around the garden constantly...but does NOT want to be touched.

My ducks don't want to be touched either. They are chow hounds though and are starting to come over when they see me with food.

Wow, whatcha feeding those girls!?

They get organic layer feed from the local wholesaler, and I at least soak it overnight and ferment it when possible, sometimes with the inclusion of yogurt of the whey poured off the yogurt. Here's there link to the feed company: http://www.tucsonorganicfeed.com/
They also have a Phoenix division.

Beyond that, they get organic greens from my garden, black oil sunflower seeds and fruit as a treat, and whatever bugs and greens they can get from free-ranging in my yard. Yesterday they got a dozen fat caterpillars that were devouring my tomato plant. I gave them chilled watermelon and apples when it was really hot, which seemed to make them extremely happy.

Hay, we had to do the same thing to get our girl off the nest.. Plus if they are sexed you get that bonus!! Enjoy them.. Does she let you hold them? I would go out at night and get them so we could let them get used to being held..

Sorry to reply so late...I've been on vacation!

I haven't held them much, since I've been away. My son took care of them and picked them up a few times to get them out of the rain and put them in shelter. I'm hoping to get a hold of them soon...maybe tonight. Better late than never, right?

I'm so upset. I went outside and found one of my Bielefelder cockerels lying dead on the ground. He was one of my breeders! I think my NN Turken cockerels may have run him to death, but I can't be sure it wasn't something else. Now I'm down a breeder...and I couldn't even process him for meat since I don't know for certain what killed him.

So sorry - sometimes you wonder if you shouldn't have cameras all around just in case.
