Arizona Chickens

Sill[/@i hope our duck's can't get mites. Still researching. .
Yeah, that would be one more thing to worry about if they could.

I'm so upset. I went outside and found one of my Bielefelder cockerels lying dead on the ground. He was one of my breeders! I think my NN Turken cockerels may have run him to death, but I can't be sure it wasn't something else. Now I'm down a breeder...and I couldn't even process him for meat since I don't know for certain what killed him.

Sorry about your young Biel boy, it's hard to loose them. They are such sweet boys.

The fan went out on my home made incubator and it over heated before I could unwire the fan. The temp spiked at 109 but the embryos seem alive and kicking. They are due to hatch this weekend and I already have one external pip. I think temperature spikes are not as deadly to older embryos as they are to fragile new ones? Anyway

for @moms3cuties and I that our chicks hatch out OK.

So sorry - sometimes you wonder if you shouldn't have cameras all around just in case.  :hugs
x2 :hugs

I think cameras would be nice cuz I wonder what the heck happened when I wasn't looking to find such things happen. I lost one of my White leghorns male with white feathered legs in a cage two weeks ago for no reason That I could find.
-.- good grief!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too my dear Friend

Oh, here is a fun photo of the girl's playing with their treat!! Then relaxing in the shade.. They are finally coming out from the corner.. Still won't come close, bit hopefully someday.. Ther is one that is a bit larger that could be a drake.. Hope not though.
They are so cute! Are they eating water hyacinth? I don't let them in the big horse trough with the water hyacinth, I do clean out the dead part's and throw it into their water bucket. They love it. Can ducks get the same mites that chickens do? I don't believe that ducks can get the same type of mites. Since mites live on dry areas.
How precious! I have found that my ducks have gotten more friendly over time. One loves to follow me around the garden constantly...but does NOT want to be touched. :weee
My ducks don't want to be touched either. They are chow hounds though and are starting to come over when they see me with food.
the three new mascotas have been coming out more lately. And they do not run away as much. Can you post any photos above your ducks?

Hay, we had to do the same thing to get our girl off the nest.. Plus if they are sexed you get that bonus!! Enjoy them.. Does she let you hold them? I would go out at night and get them so we could let them get used to being held..

Sorry to reply so late...I've been on vacation! :D   I haven't held them much, since I've been away.  My son took care of them and picked them up a few times to get them out of the rain and put them in shelter.  I'm hoping to get a hold of them soon...maybe tonight.  Better late than never, right? :thumbsup

they're just too hard to resist when they're babies. Can you put the photos?
