@desertmarcy Welcome back! Haven't seen you around here for a while. Sniff....sniff...Hey! I think I smell turkeys growing and begging to be invited to dinner.

Does anyone on here have experience with Moringa trees? I'm thinking of getting a few but don't know how well they do in our area, and whether they required a lot of upkeep or not.

Thank you, I've been having some issues that has my energy level in the dumps. Also joined a bunch of FB groups and between those and BYC, I can't really keep up with both.
Yes the turkeys are getting big and eating me out of house and home. Can't wait to butcher some and get back some of my feed money

I still have a few unspoken for, for Thanksgiving, and more for Christmas or New Year's.

I have a bunch of them in 5-gallon pots that tower over my head. I had meant to plant them in the ground this summer but previous mentioned poor energy level plus indecision on where to put them has them still in pots. I have read they will freeze to the ground here in the winter but if you mulch well around the roots, they will survive and come back strong. They are very fast growers. I harvested seed off of mine already, they were only a year old. But haven't planted the seeds since I already had so many trees I haven't put in the ground. I don't know how well the seeds keep, but you are welcome to try sprouting them. They grow best in hot weather, though, so this time of year, they'd have to be grown inside under lights or in a heated greenhouse.

As far as I can tell, the only upkeep is occasional water and keeping them cut back to a reasonable height if you intend to harvest the leaves.

Never a dull day here in Tempe at our city farm. Female woodpecker We did cover her up. .she has already drank water and was making a nest.
I am assuming there is something wrong with her or you wouldn't have caught her. If so, can you get her to a wildlife rehab place? Most wild birds are protected and it might not be legal to keep her in captivity unless you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
Yes, she.."Goldie" had a hurt leg.. I took her to FALLEN FEATHERS in Peoria ... Hoping when she recovers we can bring her back to our neighborhood..

Oh & by the way we need to find that treasure trove of banana plant's . Hope you remember where that dude told us to go??@Sill
I may know of a man that has some that he lets people dig out after the irrigation comes from time to time but that's in North West Mesa. I still have some orange cana's that I need to share with some people versus throwing them into the trash. P.m. me if you're interested.

@Sill and @City farm
Between the visit from Sill to help me put to sleep then put down my mascot and our favorite white leghorn named Chickle's 's yesterday and the phone call to and from city farm, I realized I've met some of the best people around on BYC, just to name a few of many!!!

Sill gave me a unique gift that smells kind of like a sweet lemon zest and looks like the texture of the lemon but almost reminds me of fruit that could be potential he called a yellow jellyfish, I can't remember the name of it to save my skin, and there's a problem with me trying to post a picture at the moment so... I'll send you guys a picture later when I can do it from my iPhone!

Agh, condolences om us.. :hugs
Hay, now I have a partner in crime for adventures... @Sill
AND yes to the banana plant's...another upcoming adventure!! :weee thanks

 I have pekings and some rouen/300's in the incubator right now, ducklings due by the 25th of this month, and a friend of mine not on here will have some Muscovy available here soon, she caught her hen on a nest after she disappeared, so we aren't sure when they are due. Send me a PM and we can keep in touch until fuzzy butts come! Where are you located?
