Arizona Chickens

I use pans - like the ones used to drain oil into -  in my chicken yard BUT I still clean the algae growth at least once a week if not more often.  I think summer sun and algae growth kinda go together.  I've tried a number of different things but there has always been green growth - especially in summer.

I was hoping someone found a way around the ongoing algae problem but I guess not. Looks like I will be stocking up on some more bowls. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi...does anyone have any hatching eggs for sale near coolidge or florence..
Any breed is fine..

I am in Tucson, but I will ship. How many do you want?
For my roosters, I have Blue Copper Marans, Black copper Marans, and White Silkie. And for hens I have silkies, Marans (Blue Black Splash Cuckoo), Red Sex links, Black Australorps, Naked Necks, ameraucanas, Easter eggers, buff orpingotns, Rhode Island reds and whites, white leghorns, brahmas, polish, and a lot more that I can't remember. I am charging $8 for half a dozen plus 2 and $14 for a dozen plus 2. Plus shipping.

Is copper sulphate bad for the chickens?

Not according to the research I've done, as long as they're not overdosed on it. Acidified copper sulfate is used as a treatment for blackhead in poultry as well as a few other digestive issues and is much stronger. Non-acidified copper sulfate has been used for a very long time to maintain ponds as well as water dispensers for farm animals. I literally only use about 1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp per 5 gallons of water.
