Hey guys, long time no see.
My life has been crazy between kids and critters and my husband's health issues, but I'm back (if there is anyone around who still remembers me) and still raising chickens. I have a mixed flock of mostly EEs, with a Blue Andalusian (who will be six this year) , a Rex Sex-link and a Russian Orloff. In the spring I'm going to be adding some more color with some white and brown layers.
I'm also raising 3 turkeys as an experiment, and will be finding out how they taste in a couple weeks
In other chicken related news, one of my Olive Eggers has gone broody, and I'm in the market for fertile eggs.
I have a Russian Orloff, and she handles the heat really well. A little bit of panting, but no more than that. That said, I've got a lot of trees in my yard, and the chickens have access to full shade all day. And Natasha is weird for an Orloff, she is active and somewhat aggressive, and she also didn't get the memo that Orloffs don't go broody. You have Russian Orloffs? How do they handle the heat out here?
This isn't really related to chickens but....
Does anyone know of any mastiff breeders or mastiffs for sale in arizona? We need a new family dog and we love mastiffs but and can't find any.
I know there's at least one, I was looking for service dog prospects and found them. But I'll be a monkeys uncle if I can remember the nameI'm sure if you Google "AZ mastiff breeders" they should come up. They were Neapolitan Mastiffs if it makes a difference![]()
Neopolitan Mastiffs were exactally what I wanted! Thank you!
