Arizona Chickens

That is so sad! I hate it when people act like chickens are of low intelligence or "bird brains". I just read an article on how smart chickens are...they communicate in so many ways and recognize individual birds and people...the mama hens even communicate with unhatched babies through the shell! Maybe you can leave a comment on the video, picking up & catching chickens by the tail is so painful and traumatizing for them, then to be stuffed in a box in the back of a van?! This is animal abuse!

@meetthebubus Is there any way to report the YouTube video so it can be pull down? Some things are just plain wrong!
@BlueBaby So yesterday got a first time pullet egg. The prettiest light brown egg. I just love the feel of smooth, silky, perfect pullet eggs! Wondering who - feathered Annie or NN Lady. They are both so sweet. Little Annie is getting less and less afraid of me. This AM at feeding time Lady eats a bit and then goes to the nest! Our little girl is a woman now :-) I imagine Annie is not far behind. Aussie girls are growing like weeds and are happy little girls - I don't expect eggs until March. Pearl the black Aussie has purple/pink sheen in her feathers along with the green - its beautiful.

@SonoranChick I defiantly let them know how I felt in the comments, I won't watch their videos any longer I only watch chicken themed vids in case I can learn something new but they are off the list it's so sad they were buff orps and barred rocks

@FeatherPugs
I'm not sure how the reporting goes on YouTube I just started using it last year, I think unfortunately many people won't understand or don't understand their stupidity in how the chickens were handled

Maybe she should post the link too, so we will be able to go there and comment on it too.

My bet is that is was Lady who laid that egg. She's a bit older than Little Annie and Pearl.

So, I have a little bantam hen that I call broodie chicken. Her sister is bad chicken. I noticed she was missing about 15 days ago. About 10 days when I was giving the flock their daily treats she came flying from the scrub area. They are both so small they can squat down and squeeze under the gate. My husband fixed that yesterday. So the little bigger would wait till I got tired of watching her stroll around. Taunting me like nothing to see here! Only to vanish again. Yesterday I fooled her and hid around the corner. There she went under the gate acrossed the driveway to the first bush. Low and behold there she was growling at me guarding her 6 eggs. I waited till dusk and fetched them. Two of the eggs hatched last early this morning!

Any luck on the remaining four eggs?

@BlueBaby I thought you said Lady (NN) and Annie (feathered NN) were hatch mates? Pearl Jam and Gracie Lee are the Aussies and I know they are September babies. Really Annie's comb is quite red as well and her coloring is very much like Lady's. Still love the anticipation of new pullet eggs!
Now I need to go out and see if I can catch a bully girl to put her in time out. She has been picking something terrible on one of my older girls - she's no young thing herself but the other is another year older than she is. Doesn't help that the older girl is also pretty introverted herself. They are bored - time for a big yard clean-up and let them free range while I'm out there - they don't go far - just in case there are treats - LOL!

It's Justin rhodes, the video that is titled something like why I drove 400 miles for chickens it's recent so if you search that channel name, Justin rhodes, you should find it easily, it's at about 4 minutes into the video to about 6 minutes in or so starts with the child pulling on the tail, to showing the stacked boxes... well judge for yourself, but breathing life shouldn't be transported like that that's why 6 died shocker any survived
