Arizona Chickens

The Tricide Neo is working! The barnevelder's scab already came off and there is no swelling or redness, just a little patch of new skin. The others look like the scabs are shriveling and getting ready to come off. I made the mistake of using tweezers on the white leghorn, her scab unexpectedly popped off and a yellow kernel (I suppose the infected stuff) came out behind it  She bled a little but I cleaned it up and she didn't seem to be in any pain. I just worry because I didn't wrap her up after I cleaned her. But I'm not finished treating her with the dip, so I figure worst case scenario if it gets dirty and reinfected tonight the Tricide Neo should take care of it. I'm thinking they should all be good to go by the end of a week's time! So far, I highly recommend this product.

I'm glad that they are getting better now. It's got to be painful for them walking around with those on their feet.

@cactusrota How did those Australorp/NN chicks that you took from me when we did the NN swap turn out? Some of those looked to have unusual feathering at the time. I'm just curious. :D
Well.. of the 4: the light blue one is the only pullet, and she's coming out really pretty. Of the boys I found another home for one, the biggest was reincarnated as an enchilada, and the third is enjoying his life in the big main pen along with the majority of the flock right now with his light blue sister. Haven't decided what i'm gonna do with him, yet.

I wouldn't worry too much about re-infection if you're still cleaning / dipping. So glad they are clearing up! :celebrate

So, that light blue one with the orange tinted bowtie ended up being a girl? I wonder if her bowtie held that unusual coloring?

It did, and she got some really neat buff etching to alot of her body feathers too. I tried to take a pic tonight but she wasn't cooperating. The boy was willing to pose, though. And I got a current pic of the Blue Aussie pullets from Privett, too. I'll try to get a pic of the light blue girl tomorrow... She's shy so it can be difficult to get close enough...

Well, he sure did pick up some coloring there! He seem's to have the darker colored eyes like the Australorps. His daddy was the Blue Australorp, and you already have his NN green egg laying mother over there. Are you planning to breed him back to your Blue Australorp pullets?

Really interesting, the prid and wrapping is going so slow here and only helping some a little bit I think I might try this dipping next bc it's so consuming otherwise and I still see some sore feet...

I really have no idea what I'm gonna do with him just yet. It'll probably depend on how well he fills out. I've already got so many roosters that he'll have to be pretty special for me to keep him. I've still got Remmy, at least three cockerels from the Feb 1 hatch, a couple cockerels from broody hatches that I really like, and a few from the April hatch that I may be keeping too. Not to mention the two Bresse roos in their own pen. I've got way too much going on! I'm gonna need a chicken printed straight jacket pretty soon!

Well, he sure did turn out pretty, even if I did want the lighter colored NN's.
