Arizona Chickens

Sorry, I had to take an unexpected hiatus while my husband's been trying to heal from a car accident back in March. We'd thought he was improving, but then he took a bad turn and now is preparing for neurosurgery and maybe orthopedic surgery as well to keep from being crippled. It's been a trying time. I've had to look after him, the birds, and our business all alone.

Glad to hear from ya, so sorry to hear about everything

I was thinking about you when my chicken had wheezing issues as I remember you mentioning garlic last year

Prayers

Most of the birds have been rehomed. The remaining ones will move out Tuesday night. It's awfully quiet around here.

I know how you feel about the quiet part. It seemed pretty quiet over here for awhile after I sold almost all of my Australorp's. Of course I was in the process of switching over on breed's that I was going to work with and needed these younger ones that I bought to grow out. I will now be working on my version of the desert chicken, NN's, and White Breese.

So with all these girls I'm getting eggs in the craziest places

The coop entrance, corner of the ac, right in the middle of nowhere where you walk, etc

Got a newbie doing that this morning not sure which one, but most of them have gotten the idea of the nest box

Where was the funniest/unexpected place you found an egg?

I haven't found any green eggs in a while. The most unexpected is where I haven't looked yet :gig

Thanks for checking in with us :) I'm sorry you guys are going through some tough times. I'm hoping for good results for your husband and he's well soon :hugs

@DesertChic Man, so sorry about your hubby. I know it is very trying when you have a sick loved one at home. If there is some way I can help just holler. I'll put out healing prayers for him and prayers for you to just cope. No crowing yet so indeed you may be right and the chick is just so very blonde. Glad you checked in - it is easier to let some others shoulder your burden - doesn't fix it but it helps. Stay safe and well.

I live in flagstaff az. I’m planning on ordered some ducks and was wondering what company is the best to use for sexed birds. Thanks
