Arizona Chickens

Lol they love him he's always been like that such a sweetie

in the brooder, when they get scared bc you are approaching and run to the corner... he would jump over them and on their heads so he could get to the corner and hide behind the girls he was saying "hide me girls!!" Lol hes always been like this that's why China fought the Rottweilers alone lol

The separation will work well everything is separated we just need to put up the fence again

Yes, they sure can have different personalities. I guess that is what Marshmallow sensed in him and caused him to want to take over the flock.

Hey, I see cloud buildup out there again. Weren't you the one that was supposed to be giving us our daily monsoon weather report? :lau

Lol true although @SonoranChick seems to get the storms before me then they move my way so she may be the best to notify lol looks like the internet says 4 pm it starts so I'm out of here to go out up that fence again

Well, she's slipping then, because now I hear thunder! :gig

:D I bet we could do a better job at predicting these big storms than the meteorologist on the news! We just have light cloud coverage over here, with little sprinkles here and there but nothing too exciting. The good news it is really nice out, although a bit muggy. It's been in the 80's all day! I took one of the dogs for a walk in the desert and it was so relaxing. I love the way the desert smells after it gets some decent rain.

I wish it would have stayed that cool over here. I just got back in the house a bit ago. I had gone out to check on the flock and those anthills that I have been attacking. I found a bunch of dead one's including some queens, and I seen some more of them in another place.

I feel your pain in regards to the ants. They're so bad here on my property that my husband has started talking about pouring molten metal in each ant hole. (Google it. The results are stunningly beautiful.)

And now I'm battling chicken mites. I hate those little buggers! I discovered the problem after snuggling with some of my birds and then feeling those little mites crawling around on my scalp. UGH! Last year was my first experience with them and I just knew that once it started raining they'd be back like clockwork.

I don't know if my hubby would go for me melting metal for the ant hills. I guess that you could always sell the result to those that like unusual thing's.

Ant's and mites... it seem's that if you don't have one of them as a problem, you have the other.

Ant problem here too. I got bit on my toe in the laundry room talk about itch yesterday while I was driving of course. I was sitting out with the chickens and there was a trail of them on the patio. I spread DE around and it seemed to help.

Very dark with sprinkles here right now.
