Absolutely! I think about the upcoming labor and delivery of my baby girl...it helps to think of my chickens who essentially go through labor everyday. And they don't have the option of an epidural.

There are donkeys at the Wildhorse program in Florence I know they are really cheap.

Super normal their vent is a muscle that closes up more I think it's nature to gently open the hen again



Speaking of which I know pullets can lay strange things, double yolker, tiny eggs, shell-less eggs but I saw mine poop out some sort of membrane it was white, soft and squished like a giant white raisin

I'm thinking she's ok just with the heat it was a messed up egg part and at least she expelled it,,or am i wrong? Anyone see this before?

Sounds like the "shell" of a shell-less egg to me. I wouldn't be too concerned, unless it becomes a regular thing. Keep an eye on her.

Haha seriously where is everyone? I went to the feed store and grocery store and just got home. I'm glad it's not as hot today, we are currently at 100. You know you you're an Arizonan when 100 is seen as a nice relief from the heat
Good news to report on Momo, she is back to eating from the feed containers regularly and her crop, while still bigger than I would like to see, is getting softer. I don't think it has soured because her mouth does not have the foul scent that typically goes with that issue. Her number twos are much more solid...not totally normal yet but far better than the previous week. She is acting normal, except she is wearing a bumblefoot boot which she's not crazy about. I think she might be on her way to getting over whatever it was that caused her digestive issues!

If I am correct in remembering, that you were giving her the bread soaked in olive oil. I think that helped a lot in moving things along.

What’s wrong with her? She is not eating and drinking just stands or sits there with eyes closed. Coop is not very hot.

I can rule out egg bound for sure since she laid yesterday.

The misters was on last night every hour for 3 minutes and she roost right underneath on mister could that be the reason that she caught a cold?

I see she has the heat rags - that's what I call when they get a little ugly in their feathers before molt - have you checked her for mites. Folks are having quite a time with them this year. Maybe a little bit of electrolytes to her water would help. I always think what would I do to me if I had to stay outside in the heat and it was still 105 at 11pm. Electrolytes for sure, extra protein for sure and as much water to stand in as possible to keep cool. Hope she feels better soon.
