Arizona Chickens

You know those coupon's that the Subway put's out? I don't know how many time's that I have used those during all of these years. Today I found out that all of these years that "fresh" bread that they used was made containing an ingredient used for leather shoe making! (Like I really wanted to build a shoe in my belly???) Anyway's apparently according to this site, they say that they will stop adding it to their bread.

Very seldom eat a bread roll - usually get flatbread. Still you never know what will be put in your food.

Very true! Unless you make it yourself, you don't know what they put in it. I think that's why they add those long names they do in the ingredients... no one can pronounce them, and no one know's what it is! :rant

Thanks guys ((())) I don't think it's pox the yellow in her mouth is so tiny I'm gonna get someone to help me take a pic of her mouth I'm thinking it us some sort of thrush or canker since she does have a history of weezing though that stopped after getting rest inside the house with a.c.

So far she's the only one she's a sturdy girl, "meaty" healthy appetite, energy, my heaviest one but I fear this is only the beginning and I read of not being able to eat....

My daughter pointed out to me that I probably
caught it early since I'm around them and handle them a lot
Now you know my secret... I love my chickens too much lol ;)

It might not be a bad idea to get some copper sulfate to put in the water for a while. (It will turn the water blue and kills off bacteria and algae too.) A little goes a very long way, and during the summer months I always add it to at least one of the water containers here. Copper sulfate not only provides copper supplement to the chickens, which often helps alleviate egg shell problems, but also kills a whole host of bacterium, viruses, etc. I use 1/2 TBSP per 5 gallon community water container.

Copper sulfate is also a fantastic soaking treatment for bumblefoot or other lesions, and can be applied directly to a wound prior to bandaging. It's another one of those old school, old-timer farmer's secrets. I believe you can get it at tractor supply.

Thanks everyone, @BlueBaby @DesertChic Thanks

I've been looking at these threads, they aren't the same exactly, the birds in those pics have it worse but I'm thinking it is so I'm going with natural remedy and then maybe the meds I'm going to study up on the copper I fear it bc it is toxic

@DesertChic I started a thread to put natural remedies in one place to refer back to , if you would like to post there all your natural remedies I know you know a lot and we'd benefit from it even in the future (Google search, etc.)

Anyone's welcome to post there some already did :)

Its 10 52 pm and thundering, lightning and raining and.... where are my stubborn ee's?.. outside the coop on top of the doors of the coop :he I shined the flashlight from the porch to see if they want to jump insidevreally quick, they just blinked at me ... oops there went the electricity.. ok back on right away (good this is a tablet lol ) so they just blinked at me with lightning flashing around me I decided I love them but not enough to become a statistic of people out where they shouldn't be during a storm

So maybe the lightning will give them light enough to jump in or nature will bathe them and they will feel soft in the morning
