Thank you! Miracle might be the mother of one of the chicks that are hatching from these blue eggs, so she might live on through one of her chicks.

Latest chick update. I was out working in the yard earlier and came back in about 2 hours ago, and a tan egg was hatching this time. Look's to be another one with a NN..

It was a lovely day here. Overcast all day and not too hot. Humid, though.

Today was great, such a relief from the heat. We only got up to 92* and had cloud cover for most of the day. The news kept telling me rain was coming, but nothing yet!
@BlueBaby so sorry to hear about Miracle, I hope some of those chicks are from her.
@meetthebubus how is your hen with the canker issue? Did you ever find out if it really is canker?
Random information, but did you guys know you can give your chickens milk? I read in one of my chicken books this evening that they love it, and it's a good calcium & protein supplement. Definitely not a replacement for good ol water, but I may fill a small dish tomorrow and see what they think of it!

The humidity had me sweating while I was in the yard working today.

Yes, I knew that you could give milk to chickens. That is how the French finish off their Breese before they get slaughtered for food. Here in the states we have Breese here to, but we have to call them American Breese over here. I do have some of those pure White Breese, but those girls haven't started laying eggs yet.
