Arizona Chickens

I believe that rumor! When I worked at ulta we learned that the SPF number had to do with how long the sunscreen protected you, not how "powerful" it was. I don't remember the exact numbers but something like SPF 15 protects for an hour, SPF 50 protects for 3 hours for example. We learned that after a certain amount of time you've got to reapply the sunscreen. People make the mistake of putting on SPF 75 and thinking they are good to go for an entire day in the Arizona sun. It's misleading marketing.

I believe it too there's no regulation against saying it's 100 spf and higher spf of the same brand cost more like Neutrogena 50 is cheaper than 100 but you buy the 100 thinking you have better protection but nope!

Well, 4 out of the 5 blue eggs have hatched out now. 2 of them have the NN's, and 2 have the fully feathered necks. I am going to keep the 2 that are the NN's, but not the other 2. The 2 that I don't want to keep would be good right now for someone that want's a broody hen to get off of the nest. One of those fully feathered necked chicks is white, and the other one is sort of brownish-gray with a white spot on the back of it's head (so thinking the dark one will be a boy). These are from my White NN/Breese mix roo over my Crested Cream legbar hens, and females will lay those light green eggs.

I have 2 of my tan egg's that are in the process of hatching now, and 7 more that I'm still waiting for to hatch.

So I use EltaMD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum. It has the zinc in it. I wear it out at the lake on my face and do not reapply it and I am fair skinned. I haven’t got sunburnt yet! Love this stuff kinda pricey but well worth it. You can get it on amazon in regular or tint. I prefer the tint. And no it does not leave you greasy or oily!!:thumbsup

@BlueBaby miss foofy still has yet to lay an egg. However she has been in the nesting boxes a few times. She did try to roost with the big girls last night but they kept pecking her so I moved her to the “safe house” with the two babies. We are in the process of building the girls a bigger coop area and netting off the top so they can’t fly into my yard and leave me presents everywhere:lau and they will be safe from any coyotes or hawks! Will post pics when done!

I'm sure that Miss Foofy will get back into laying her eggs for you soon. She just has to adjust to being a new member of the flock. Present's everywhere? What, you don't want to go on an Easter egg hunt every day? :lau

Chicken poop everywhere!!! I don’t mind sharing my yard but when they shit on the patio I draw the line. :p

The chicks I got from you are really funny they will come out into the yard and then freak out and run back into the coop area:lau

They never were out in an actual yard before. They don't know that they can free-range now. The coop area was the safe place.

I have yet to meet an animal that poops as much as chickens do! All day, all night...everytime I clean all the poop I turn around and there are 10 more :th
