:hugsI'm wishing you BEST. Hope all will be well.

Nope, not me. No silkies either. I have enough to take care of already. They would be cool though. I have no doubt we'll see them eventually.

Yes, someone will probably try doing it (The NN/AC). I might even do it if I was sure to get a pullet and not yet another cockerel. :lau

A little adjusting for pecking order in my flock but the girls are happy and just clucking around without worrying who is going to jump their bones!! The guy who got them for his farm texted me and said they were so "pretty" that he just like watching them strut and crow. They will be well taken care of there!

@Michelle Guynn are California Whites made from Leghorns? I just got an Austra White, which is Leghorn/Australorp. She's only a couple days old but she's inquisitive and independent. One of the most adventurous and curious of the bunch.

@Suzyqschickens I think it depends on where you live and the time of year, and if they're bantams. The minimum for my order was only 8.

@meetthebubus car accidents are so scary. I'm glad you're alright and I hope car repairs aren't too much of a headache.

My kids are absolutely over the moon with the chicks. They got ready for school in record time this morning because I told them they could hold the chicks once they were all ready for school! It's so fun seeing the little differences in their dispositions already. How long should I keep them on paper towels? When do they know to eat their food and not their pine shavings?

Yes, those are cute too! Are the yellow ones a different breed than the striped one's are?
They're just different colored coturnix quail. There's actually three different colors there, the standard called pharoah, the whites, and some tibetan tuxedos. These particular lines are tamer than lines I've had in the past, which sucks because they are going to be raw dog food. It's gonna be hard to process them when their grown... :(

Anyone ever have California white chickens? I think I want to have a mixed coop when I get moved and get a few of them. The last time I was a tractor supply they had some.
They have a repuation of being a bit skittish, but less skittish than full leghorns. If you don't want snuggly hens they're good egg layers.
