I hate politics so I turn off my phone. I'm ready to get rid of it altogether. What the heck is wrong with NOT being connected 24/7/365. I'm sick of it, don't care and don't want to know.

As for the holidays, you guys can have them. I don't celebrate xmas and don't follow any of the beliefs that go with it. It all pretty much disgusts me. We have lights and a tree but that's my husbands doing not mine.

Wow, that's pretty negative. Didn't mean for it to sound like that!

I'm not a Christian, but to each their own. I really detest the commercialism of all holidays, but Christmas is the absolute worst. Plus, the people wishing me a merry christmas in December will be calling me nasty names in February because they can't pay their bills.

Hubby just unplugged the home phone. We were getting call's about every 15 minutes for the political stuff. It's crazy!

Lol I like that last part. That is so true, right?

I love Christmas I feel like I can celebrate it and leave what I don't like out. But I think whatever someone wants to do or not do is cool
my hubby used to hate Christmas time bc of everything it seems to have become, but he loves it now, how we do it, says it's so peaceful a time and I love that :)

Personally I decorate but no trees, no Santa. I love the movies though lol
My family keeps it simple with a great meal and small tokens of presents and just a calm peaceful day, I love that so much I start my Christmas music in november, but I mostly love those classics like peace on earth by David bowtie and who was it... oh yeah Bing Crosby or Mary's boy child by Boney M or .....ok ill stop
:lau

Have a good day everyone

Oh and p.s. I hate the politics, calls and texts too what's up with that?!

I love the time of year for sure, and lights on the house, the tree. Music too, the old classics and TSO, Mannheim Steamroller, Gary Hoey.

That's the primary reason I finally had our landline disconnected. If we weren't getting political or polling calls, we were getting solicitation calls. It was non-stop at all hours and when we'd request to be put on the "no-call list", they'd completely ignore us, replying, "Well, you didn't tell ME not to call...only the other person." It's much easier to block numbers on our cell phones.

ANyone have experience dealing with a not so friendly neighbor who allows his rooster to roam free? I have come home twice now to see this rooster bothering my girls. Fortunately my girls attack him but seriously!! The first time he said it wasn’t his rooster:he the second time I didn’t see him. The kids just threw him back over the fence.. :rant:rant:rant

Well, if he insists it's not his rooster then he shouldn't mind you inviting the bird to dinner, right?

You need to not hold back so much when expressing yourself. ;):lau Just kidding.

We're not Xmas people either. We were when our son was younger, but not for religious aspects since we're not religious. I like the pretty lights, some of the holiday music...things like that....but beyond that it's just not a big deal to us. We occasionally use the holiday as an excuse to buy something for someone we care about who's in need but too proud to admit it. Otherwise, it's a good excuse to just take the day off from the rest of the world, maybe pop in some movies and be a little gluttonous.

Now Thanksgiving is a different story. Any holiday that revolves around food is a keeper in my book, though we're very non-traditional since we don't especially like turkey. I often make lasagna instead, which is always a big hit since we've nearly had to ban pasta from our diet. And of course...pie. I love pie. Especially homemade blueberry pie with homemade whipped cream. Yeah...it's all about the food.
