Arizona Chickens

@cactusrota
The 2 black hens I got from you last year are going through a serious molt and they look terrible, poor things. However, the girl with the white spots that kind of went away as she grew is getting some of that back as her feathers come in. Especially around her neck and shoulders. She looks like she might have a ring of white bubbles around her neck. We'll see what happens as she regrows her feathers.

Also, @BlueBaby my roo is getting so big he can barely get through the pop door, we're going to have to buy a larger size to install. He's still got a croaky crow that isn't annoying or particularly loud. Hope it stays that way.

Gotta run, making peanut butter cookies, have a great day everyone!

Sorry the pics aren't great, I was shivering and the chickens were eating.

Ohh!! Like a pearl necklace! How cool! Mine started in waves back in August and finally finished around Thanksgiving. I was getting 1-2 eggs a day out of over 30 hens for a while there. It was depressing. But I rehomed some, and they finished molting, and now I'm getting over a dozen a day out of just under 30. A bit more reasonable.. haha! They looked horrible while molting, some looked like straight up porcupines, it was nuts!!!

Mine didn't start that early except my broody, she molted right after the rooster hatched. Everyone else has been straggling along so I have been getting a few eggs all the while, just not very many.

Same here, between the molting and the change in temps, my daily egg count has been all over the place. I do get at least 2 eggs a day, though. It's been raining off and on now for close to 2 hours, and the temp has dropped a few degrees from what it was at noon.

I know it is. As long as I don't have any frozen chickens out there, I'm ok. We weren't planning to go anywhere tonight. Just staying in and avoiding the check points and drunk driving of party goer's. We are planning on doing dinner out and a movie with a friend of our's tomorrow, though.
