Arizona Chickens

:th, it looks like I am fixing to be come a chicken momma to 22 more chickens..lol, a friend has someone that is moving, can't take her babies with her.. so I'm getting chickens. I do not have a separate area for quarantine, so it looks like a straight in with everyone else. if someone does stick out as sick, they will be dealt with as soon as I get them home. :bow wish me luck and say a prayer for me, they'll be coming home either Sunday or Monday..

They are coming in from Kingman, I'm in Golden Valley, so we're basically neighbors, from what I understand they are full grown and about the size of a bantam.. I've been taking it slow on my new coop build, but now have to put a fire under it..lol, I've found some folks that I've been hatching for that would like some of the girls, 4 to one friend and 3 to another, so that will leave me with 14 girls and a roo to add to my flock, lol.. if the 4 of the first hatch are actually hens, then I will end up with 30 hens and 3 roo's. One of the roo's might have to go. Got 6 currently in the incubator. I figure I'll add whatever I get from that batch to what I have already.

Well, good luck with them. My next door neighbor's husband is working up there in Kingman right now. They are the one's that I gave a few of my chicken's to.

Thank you.. I hadn't planned on that many chickens that quick, but 30 is about the number of hens that I was wanting..lol.. so my new 24 count incubator is going to sit in it's box for a while..lol. Time for me to head for bed, I asked on one of my FB groups for left over paints for using to paint the coop, I will probably end up with enough to paint a 2000 sq ft house..lol.. so it's mix and match and see what I come up with, my biggest thing is just protection for the osb. I'll worry about making it perdy later.

Best to use a color of paint that will not absorb too much heat from the sun ray's in the summer.
