Arizona Chickens

Okay, so our birds are apparently NOT serama, they are too big. But they are definitely bantam. So I'm deleting that thread, no point in it taking up space! But if anyone is interested in a bantam rooster, let me know!

I have a flock of big bird's here, but I am expecting to be getting some regular and showgirl silkies too, soon. Yes, they will be kept separate.

Cold here AGAIN - I mean freeze the water dishes cold! Not frozen solid but I had to break ice on top again. Didn't take me long in the coop/run this am! Hoping for some warmer nights too. Those girls are using all their energy to stay warm and have thumbed their noses at making eggs!! Happy Tuesday!

Yes, I know that it got down to freezing overnight, but me being a night owl and a late sleeper, it's already warming up when I go out there. I heard there's a chance of rain again I think it's tomorrow?

I heard Thursday I think.

So your silkies will be showgirls? You know you're testing my resolve, right?

Some will be the showgirl silkies, and some will be the regular silkies. They will be coming from two different breeder's so they won't be closely related to each other. You wouldn't be able to keep them with the rest of your flock. Silkie's are small and they have a soft spot on top of the head, plus your roo couldn't breed those girl's.

I can always build another coop...

Another gloomy day! Happy Valentines Day all......

If it rain's today, I will have to be dodging raindrops. I'll be taking care of 22 chicken's today instead of my normal 17, along with 2 more dogs and 2 goats. Yes, I'm animal sitting again, too. :D

We are getting sprinkles now. The valley was already getting rain. I'm thinking you are dodging the raindrops!

Remember that old Tiny Tim song, "Tiptoe through the tulip's?" Well, replace the word tulips with raindrops, and sing along with me! :lau
