@Michelle Guynn I'm a little confused. Out of the 2 silkies that hatched, this was the strongest chick, and I thought it was going to be a black. Now that it is 2 day's old and fluffed up great, is it a black or a dark blue? I culled the paint one because it was so spraddle legged that it couldn't even stand up. I don't keep weak chick's, because I won't use them for future breeding anyway's.

Maybe a gray splash. Mine has white wing tips and a white belly. It’s sleeping now I’ll take a pic when it wakes up. I sold all my paints so this one don’t have any friends.

Maybe you will get that 3rd egg to hatch so then it would have a friend. I still have other egg's over here ready to hatch, but these are from my own flock. The other silkie egg's that I got from you should hatch on the 22nd.

It was very talkative even inside of the whole intact egg. I hope another chick is ready to put in the brooder with it, so it won't be alone.

I added a HumidiKit to my incubator today. It's pretty neat, very quiet. I hear the water gurgle a bit once in a while but that's all.

Are you liking it? I've got to figure out how to adjust it, thinking I am going to need to take it outside where I can see better, will have to modify the 24 count incubator when I get it out.. , I'm being good though, can't do it now.. don't have time to raise them up to turn loose in the flock.

Hi Ladies, between having company and working on the coop, haven't been on lately, we should be closing off the fence that we've been using for access tomorrow and taking down the fence that separates the old from the new, Hubby has the first 3 rungs on the roost, we'll be putting another 3 up, the tile part is done.. then put up the nest boxes, and they will be ready to go.. I get to practice my zen gardening..lol, got the sand down in the chicken litter box. Will be so much easier to clean.

Does it have the 5 toe's like they are supposed to have? Mine does. I wonder what your future chicks from that one will look like if you breed it to one of your paint one's?

Yes she does. I’m definitely keeping her to see what she looks like. And we are bonded lol.
