4 egg's out of 5 hen's isn't bad at all. I cut myself back to 5 hen's for right now too, along with some pullet's that I have been growing out. I got 5 egg's yesterday, and 3 today. The pullet's haven't started laying yet.

No green egg today, but I can forgive her after that double yolker she laid yesterday. Got a first little brown pullet egg today out of the girl that got stuck behind the nesting box a couple of months ago.

Emma is putting hazel and precious to shame lol. She is laying an egg almost everyday. The others not so much.

Are they going broody? One of mine stopped laying egg's and want's to stay in the nesting box sitting on everyone else's egg's. I take the egg's away, and she still won't get out of the box.

I have a Bresse/NN pullet from last September doing the same thing. I'm not letting her as I have enough broodies right now. Her sister has been sitting on eggs for a couple weeks already, and another Bresse/NN in another pen starting sitting last week. Not to mention the nest she's chosen is way to high off the ground. These Bresse/NN hens are proving to be very disposed to going broody!!!

I had heard this girl clucking funny the other day, and figured that she was about to go broody. She's one of the NN/Breese one's that I got from you last year.

Have you heard anything from @DesertChic lately? I hope that she's ok over there. I was hoping to get some hatching egg's from her out of her NN blue egg pen.

No I don’t think they are. Hazel laid the last two days. Precious it’s been a week or so.

No, I haven't heard from her. I had sent her a private message a while back... could be a couple weeks now, and haven't gotten a response.

Evening, I evicted Sir Poops a Lot this evening, we had normal pecking order stuff, but no blood shed, he's between the small hens and the hens from my first hatch.. even has tail feathers, I had to pick him up and put him in the coop, then pick him up again and put him on the roost, so I am hoping tomorrow, he'll figure it out on his own.
