If you decide to rehome them let me know. I may take them. I take it they are NN crosses. what are they crossed with?

They are Bresse crosses, 50%, it's a french meat bird. One of them actually came out fully feathered as all my breeders right now only carry one copy of the naked neck gene, so you get some fully feathered chicks. This cross is slowly becoming my favorite so far. Great personalities and very productive egg layers. AND heavy enough to be a table bird. If I ever had to do a major flock reduction, these are the ones I'd keep, hands down.

These are the birds these chicks came from, and some of the other pullets that are related to them... I don't know how they threw that dark chick... should be interesting how it turns out.

I have read a lot about the bresse breed. The more I read the more I like them, for their egg laying. Not for meat, as soon as an animal is on the property it is a pet. It is a cross I might have done a few years down the road. I know about pure bred NN and bow ties I have always wondered how the birds feather two or three more generation out. Looks like third generation you can get some fully feathered.

That's not a problem. A dozen eggs would probably be around $25. We can do it like last time, I know you're good for it.

You will like her Breese crossed with the Naked Neck's. I got some from her last year, and I am happy with them. They are laying large egg's well. A hen might take a day off from laying, but that's to be expected. One of the one's that I got from her last year is currently broody, so you would also be able to have a hen that would hatch it's own egg's, if you didn't want to fool around with incubating them yourself. Even the rooster's are good boy's and will move out of your way.

I like that hen in the middle in the bottom picture. Some of my chick's are coming out spotted looking like that, only their's are black instead of brown.

@Hamburg this is my roo who is a Bresse cross. Super sweet boy to the girls, not human aggressive. Easy to handle if I pluck him off the roost at night.

Thank you Bluebaby and IgorsMistress for the encouragement although I didn't need any. My wife even said it would be OK. Always check with the boss first. Cactusroda needs to decide if she wants to keep them.

I WANT to keep ALL chicks because they're just so darn cute, and every single one has the potential to be a really good bird... but... then the feed bill catches up with me.. Hahahaha!!
I may be heading that way some time soon to help my neighbor deliver a goat (long story...) off Lebanon Rd. Maybe I can bring them with me and you can take a look? Not sure what day it's gonna be yet, but I can let you know.

Looks like I may have another hen gone broody! One of the Jersey Giant/NN crosses that's penned up with Blue. I was wondering if anyone in that pen was gonna even consider it. Looking forward to seeing what I can get out of him and the hens in with him. It makes letting go of these chicks a bit easier at least.
