Hazel and precious are doing good. Not liking the cold as they stopped laying and getting fat.

I was just in the guest bath, I thought I heard what sounded like squeeking, turns out it's a early hatch, they are not out of the egg yet, but ought to be hopefully by morning, hatch isn't suppose to be till Sunday but I always seem to end up a day or two off either way.
Yup, no mice..lol, Thanks, I am hoping I at least get the three that I am 98% sure are active.. still have those two I'm not sure about in there, they'll be removed come Sunday and possibly as soon as the last of these hatch.Nope, no mice in there squeaking, just chick's peeping!Good luck with the hatch!

Cool, I haven't gotten many double yoke's out of the batch I have now, my black sexlinks laid a bunch while they were warming up. I was hoping to wake up this morning to a chick, he'd squeeked a couple of times last night, then chirped, and nothing after that, this morning he has a strong chirp but no chick, how long do I wait before looking to see if I need to assist?I cracked open that first egg from the Barnevelder that I got today. It had 2 small double yolk's in it. I thought it was a bit funny looking for a first egg, but it's the first one that I had that was that color.

I can't say how big the pip is, can't see it, he's not out of the shell yet, but has a loud peep.. because of the others, I don't want to go opening the incubator just yet. I figure tonight around 7:30 I'll do it if he isn't out. that will be 24 hours. Last assist I had to do the chick died, so I don't want that happening.Has the chick cracked the shell yet? If so, then is the hole big enough for it to get a little air to breathe? You said that they are hatching a bit early, so give them some time.

He was getting plenty of air, we have hatchWell, if the chick has been in the shell all that time and is peeping as loudly as you say, he has to be getting air ok.
