Arizona Chickens

False alarm on the broody everyone :p my family thinks I’m a crazy chicken lady because I was worrying over nothing haha. We got home from getting some groceries and there she was out and about socializing normally. I wonder why she was in the nesting boxes so long when usually all three girls finish laying by around 11am

Keep an eye on her. They start like that sometimes

This girl is a stunner! The roo has a long, thick neck and his saddle feathers are coming in yellow. He has some nice lacing or penciling or whatever but he's not letting me get very close at the moment. @BlueBaby

@nuthatched My 3 that hatched out in Feb. are now running around in the coop and run with the adult's. The cockerel in this batch isn't related to any of my other's, so I kept him. My 5 in the brooder are 2 week's old now as of yesterday, and are starting to go through the food and water faster now as they grow. My next hatch in the incubator is due on May 10th. I have a broody hen in broody jail.

Thanks for the help! Do you recommend leaving the crate near the run or keeping her away from the rest of the flock?
I made one of mine a broody prison, kept it in the coop with everyone else, a small dog crate with hardware cloth for the bottom and up on 2 x 4's so that air could circulate under her. No nest box/materials, she broke in 24 hours or less.

Go out and check tonight see if she's not back on the nest, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I was seeing broody poo and not finding a hen parked in one of the nest boxes, then I figured it out, they were down eating and drinking while I was in there, finally caught one in the nest box, I gave her eggs to hatch..
