I think she's quite pretty to be honest. She looks like a goth teenager lol.True! She sure has a unique coloring for a NN.

I got pine horse pellet litter, and I just got newspaper today.. of course I already had the pellets down, but next week I'll put paper down first! Already such a nice difference! I'll use these pellets in the parrots cage too.I have read that the corn cob bedding can have Aspergillus mold spores in it. Bad for birds. If you have a parrot read "Alex" by Irene Pepperburg. Her African Grey died of Aspergillus from corn cob bedding, sad ending to a good book. I use newspaper for my indoor birds. Baby chicks get a paper towel at first.
I like the pellets too. They soak up liquid so much better than the shavings.I got pine horse pellet litter, and I just got newspaper today.. of course I already had the pellets down, but next week I'll put paper down first! Good morning everyone, yesterday we noticed on of our hens had a few drops of blood near her tail feathers (I’m assuming one of the others must’ve plucked off a feather or been pecking at her). We took her out and currently have her in a dog kennel to avoid more injuries, how long should we keep her away from the flock?
The horse products are always much cheaper than any small animal products, too! I like to put paper towels or even an old dish cloth on top of the bedding at first for new chicks. Just to be sure that they see the food. I was just at Tractor Supply, and had to ogle the new chicks. I was sad to see that they had to peck through the pine shavings for their food, no food dishes were in with the new chicks. They were peeping so loud I could hear them when I came in the front door. That's why I like to order chicks from the hatchery.I got pine horse pellet litter, and I just got newspaper today.. of course I already had the pellets down, but next week I'll put paper down first! I only removed her because the blood seemed to be attracting the other hens and had them peck at her repeatedlyThat happened to one of mine not too long ago. A younger hen was in the nesting box and an older hen thought that she was taking too long to lay her egg. The younger hen is ok and healed up ok, and is still laying egg's. I never removed her.
That is not too much a problem with shipped hatchery chicks, they are hungry when you get them! That is why I was sad to see those chicks at the store. I just will not buy them from those places. They did have a bunch which seems to mean that the chicken rush from Covid might be over. I was there looking at the chick feed, and they only had one bag on the shelf!Whenever I sell any of my newly hatched chick's, I make sure that they are eating and drinking properly before I even let them go.
