Arizona Chickens

Just the wings -- 2 weeks old tomorrow. The 4 week olds are off heat. They were panting in the heat yesterday, so they got to learn about ice bottles. Hilarious! The rocks were sitting on top of the frozen juice bottle and then sliding off for no reason that their bird brain could figure out, so the finally decided to sit with breast pushed up to the bottle and heads on top. :lau

Do you still have the NN Dorking mix chick in with the Rock's?

Yes, they both ignored the frozen bottle. They did roll in the shovel full of cool wet dirt and grass!

I still have those 2 White Rock's in with my 5 toed chick. The 5 toed chick was the last one to hatch, and was slow to kick in on the growing, but it's going to town on it now that the other 11 chick's have been living outside in the grow-out pen. Everytime I go in the room, the 3 little pig's are looking for some bread crumb's. :gig

I gave them a grasshopper this morning, and the 2 naked neck chicks would not even look at it, they know I am supposed to give them bread! They lost out to the leghorn gang.:gig

I only give mine bread crumbs when they are young like that. At least I know that those won't clog up the crops, and it help's to get them to come and take it from my hand.

They still expect them! LOL They have been getting plenty of dirt for their gizzards, & there will not be enough left of that grasshopper to clog any one up after they tear it up snatching it away from each other!

No dna results yet 😫 trying to not bond w the one i think might be male, but now it runs to the cage side to see me when i come in the room!! Hopefully the chicken gods release the results tomorrow.

Here are my bunch playing this evening 🥰
