I thought she was blue when i got her, but i thought her new feathers being darker meant she was actuslly black.. but a side by side of black and blue cleared that up. I Dont currently have breeding plans, but still excited about how pretty all the chicks have turned out. Such nice bantam bin surprises! I know what you mean. I finally just got the Dorking mixed chick and those 2 White Rock's out of the brooder in the house a couple of day's ago. That's the longest time that I have ever kept any chick's in the house over here. What a mess that they have made.

I am a parrot whisperer... i once took in an African Grey temporarily to rehab it.. And whenever my current parrot, squeeky, would start her screaming, the african grey would say STOP IT.. and she did! 😆

Dylan barks at the crows when we are outside. She has a big cage where she oversees the other birds, and her human slaves. She says, "Come Here" when she wants us to take her back inside!

Oh yes, gotta love parrots and their demands!! This one's demands are limited to feed me, come here, and hey baby when she wants you to talk to her. The African Grey was just ridiculous... he would give me his breakfast order... and if it was wrong, it would all get thrown on the floor. He would say Wanna give me some eggs, or Zels (for pretzels), fish (goldfish crackers), grapes, cheese, butter (peanut butter). So I would just wait for him to decide what he wanted before I bothered to fill his breakfast bowl. He was fun, but when it was time for bed, he wanted total silence, and if you didn't comply, he would mimic a fire alarm perfectly until you turned off all the lights and went to bed. I only had him for a few months to solve a feather plucking problem and refusal to eat. Clearly the eating got fixed 😂 His belly and chest plucking stopped too.. and he picked up his new phrase from me, oh come up here, let me see your belly 🤣 Nice return gift for his mama.

Unfortunately, I have been a bit too responsive to Daisy, the white D'Uccle.. she has become quite vocal in the mornings when she decides it is time for me to let them out of their coop. I swear I can almost make out a HURRY UP!

Dylan has bird bedtime. Her sun lamp goes off on a timer at 5:45, bedtime is 6:00pm. She starts the smoke alarm/microwave beep after the light goes off, in case I did not notice. Dark time in the closet keeps her from laying eggs. I do not need to be in here on my computer after 6 p.m., anyway!:)
I go to bed with the chickens, now that I have chickens!
