Arizona Chickens

Would anyone like to have my Naked Neck rooster named Roger? He would be for free, and is a nice rooster. I will be using 2 other boy's for next year to keep my gene diversity going in my flock. I would like Roger to be able to have a chance to be happy in a new flock so that I will not have to end his life unnecessarily if no one takes him.
Maybe @CaroleW might like him.

Roger is a hunk. I would think any NN breeder would drool over him! I have seen him, and he is huge!

He's a good rooster, and has never tried to attack me nor anyone else that has been out there. He also is the father of many offspring so he's proven in that category, and has time to father even more. He doesn't have one of those high pitched crow's neither.

I know that Carole is not happy with her current NN rooster, he is headed to the Rooster Harvest. Maybe he can find a new home.

So far those chick's seem to be doing ok out there. The lady that I got them from said that she had them in a container in a shed that had a temp of 105-F. to get them used to the heat, but there have been day's already since I've had them that the temp has been an average of 115-F. I have been topping the water bowls off with cold water several times a day.

This is the last week that I have to do the animal's next door, as she will be back home on the 29th. But then I will have to help my DH after his back operation on the 1st. He will be coming back home in a back brace that he will have to wear for awhile, and not allowed to lift anything over like a gallon jug of water.
So glad you are off neighbor pet duty. I hope they don't do that to you again, really thoughtless!

Well the truck is fixed.. was a fan clutch.. which means the whole fan needed to go. I had already replaced a water pump, but not the radiator. It was very aged, so that got swapped at the same time. Phew! Back to business! I saw the giant cloud of downburst, was afraid I'd get stuck in it with the mini loaner car. I'd much prefer my truck in that instance! But it skipped over us. Hope we get some more rain soon, humidity with rain is better than humidity with no rain!

Chickies are getting more demanding.. they want out all day. Too bad I have flyers, or I could setup a playpen! They did get to run around w egg noodles today.. it was pretty funny. Combs are getting redder!!

Glad that you got your truck back again. Is there a way that you can rig up a top for your playpen for them?

Hmm.. I hadn't thought of that. Yea, I probably can pretty easily. Maybe with some of that shade mesh material. It doesnt have to be too tight on there, just enough to discourage them to hop up. It would be easier to clean up too! I will have to investigate a solution...

Ugh. can you believe the neighbors have the nerve to use my driveway to bring up their trash cans, since their cars are blocking their driveway? I swear, these people drive me crazy. I just find it amazing that they expect me to be neighborly, after everything they have done. </rant>
