The dark gray andalusian was right up to the fenced off portion of the run, checking out one of the midnight majesty maran cockerels earlier. No pic of that, just two shots of the babies roosting in their coop and the big girls at the water cooler. The babies are about 4.5 weeks old. Note, "whitey" is getting some red back in her comb, so maybe they overheard how they might be integrated with the freezer instead of with the new babies! The andalusians have taken an egg-laying vacation since late september, when the first went into a pretty hard molt. Now two have been through a hard molt, the other two more diffuse molts. Hoping the hint of red in the comb means there'll be eggs again soon! My idea of "hard molt" is no tail feathers, and later no neck feathers, then nothing but pin feathers on the whole neck etc.
