All of my outside work is done for the day. All of the animals have been happily fed and watered. The 10 chick's were actively running around in their pen chirping, eating, and scratching around in there.

I hope everyone is ok!
Glad you are ok, hope nobody at the neighbors place was hurt! I would give the corn at night before bed and only if you don’t give other scratch during the day; a scant tablespoon per bird daily max. That’s slightly more than 10% of their daily diet but if you give it last thing at night then they won’t eat as much of it. Or they may eat it all lol, corn is like candy to them. Be sure to provide grit as well. I have lots of tiny rocks in my yard but my flock always preferred the grit I bought for them. We're OK. Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything on line so far saying if anyone was hurt or worse yesterday morning. Big Ben is back to his normal sounding crows.
How much cracked corn should they get? An occasional treat, or can it be added to their pellets daily? I did get a bag of the regular layer pellets and some calcium to feed on the side. Gotta meet the needs of Big Ben the Alarm Rooster, too, and not just the girls!

It’s chilly outside but we haven’t had any freezes here. What about your area?OK, thank you. They do get grit in addition to anything they might scratch up.![]()

Yikes! That’s bone chilling cold. I bet your flock appreciates the extra straw. It's cold. It's currently 5 degrees. Brrr! The chickens got some extra thick straw last night because of the cold spell.
According to the news we aren’t going to see any normalcy until the second half of next year in AZ and all the visits for the holidays could delay that. Ugh! I’m sick of masks and the word “covid.”
Yes, sick of the response to it all - forecasts have been in error quite often, so I'll take it with a grain of salt. Will be more careful around the most vulnerable (if ever allowed to be around them). "Social distancing" myself from news is better than keeping up with it all daily- since rumors/facts change based on who is talking the most.According to the news we aren’t going to see any normalcy until the second half of next year in AZ and all the visits for the holidays could delay that.
