More like UN-dressed, then!
I couldn't eat a pet.. but i do buy rotisserie that looks like that, just crispier. But i couldn't process them myself either.. it would be a quick route to vegetarian life! (Which might not be bad..)Don't look @AngBantamLuv -- this guy was about 2 1/4 pounds. Un-dressed crower.
Crower, not a pet. Male Barred Holland, a very rare breed that is meant to be dual-purpose, eat the boys girls stay and lay white eggs. I treat all my birds well. If these guys do not get eaten, they have no reason to live. No reason for people to adopt the breed and raise more. They are pretty good boys, as roosters go. Calm and friendly. Easy to handle. Here is one right before processing.I couldn't eat a pet.. but i do buy rotisserie that looks like that, just crispier. Aww pretty bird. I don't disagree w processing, i just couldn't pull it offCrower, not a pet. Unless people want them to breed, they have no use except to eat them. They are pretty uncommon, so no one has hens for the extra males. It is not as difficult to process these guys as a drake! About the same amount of meat for dinner, not as tasty as duckAww pretty bird. I don't disagree w processing, i just couldn't pull it offand hearing of some horrible rehoming situations for roos.. id process one if i couldn't vouch the new home before letting it suffer.
My neighbor who went with me to pick up the NNs loves the Alohas, she was telling me she wants some without Naked Necks! You probably would not want to breed any of those for her, would you?
May 15 is the magic date to plant here, according to my neighbor, a lifelong Prescott native. One reason I have not gone and bought that incubator that I hear calling my name, I would rather not brood chicks, or ducklings, before then!
