Arizona Chickens

Ick! I hate snakes! When I had ducks, there was a tarantula. A few tried to wolf down the tarantula, and the third duck to try, succeeded! For the egg washer, I'd guess it's for people who sell eggs to eat, since you'd want the bloom to be fully intact for hatching, not that I've ever tried to hatch eggs though.
Can I borrow that duck for the summer? :D

I haven't seen tarantulas.. but i have seen tarantula wasps, so they must be close by! 😭 now they are going to show up in my yard.

I have the wasps, too. The tarantulas generally leave me alone, they just wave their front legs at me. (Hello, large scary human!) I had one male desert tarantula that I named Harry because he was hairy, and he lived by the old cistern until a tarantula wasp got him. Slim and Slither the snakes stayed away last year, maybe because during the winter I completely blocked off the snake hole that had been hidden my porch. Slim was a good 5-6 feet long, and he wasn't exactly welcome.

"Bad Boyz" the Next Generation is due to hatch here in 6 more days! I still have 13 eggs that look like they are growing. These guys eat anything! Here are the parents when they were little and cute! I am getting the brooder ready, not long now.

I don't want any of them 😬 im ok with wild quail and Goldfinches..

They really do think that they are the man! He runs around the yard -- very importantly, like he is in charge of everything. He still eats out of my hand, and lets the girls go first.

Mine is the same way--he acts like he's king but wants his neck feathers stroked. Silly guys.
