Arizona Chickens

Sound like you are going to have lots of Alohas to choose from once they all hatch! You'll get to pick the best for keepers.

I went to the swap meet (the same one where I got the eggs last September) and a lady there was selling chicks. They were half grown and from the good sized red combs and the way the chicks stood I'm guessing they were pretty much all cockerels. Hoping nobody buys them expecting egg layers. :hmm

Yes, you are right, and I get to help with determining if the Aloha/Lakeshore Egger ones that hatch out with the more defined eyeliner are the girl's or not. They might be a sexlink thing. I'll put a leg band band on the one's that have a darker eyeliner on those.

Those are the ones I would take to the swap meet! Buyer Beware . . . ;)

@BlueBaby How many chickens do you have?? It seems like you have a ton!

I just had some hatching egg's delivered to me from a lady over there in Mesa this morning. I was expecting 2 dozen, but she brought me 41, so I took them all. I already have some of the egg's from my flock in the incubator, so in order for me to hatch all of these too, I'll have to pull out my second incubator. Before I do that, I thought that I would offer some of these egg's for hatching if someone else want's some.

I have a fly problem.
It's getting HOT 🔥 (95°F today) and my hens/rooster have a 10x10 coop the floor is just the dirt that its built on (no floor bedding).
I have been hosing down the ground with water in there to keep my flock cool, but now have like a bunch of flies in there.
What can I do to keep it fly free and still cool for my chickens?
