Coffee N Chickens
Counting Chickens B4 They're Hatched
I just did the same thing I always did growing up--half white vinegar and half boiling water in a cup with food coloring added in, then put the egg in and wait until the color is dark enough. Up until last year, I always used store bought eggs. I learned that the bloom on eggs from your own flock has to be completely scrubbed off, or those spots happen. Oh well, it made them a little more interesting. And I dropped a cup on one of them and cracked it. This year I'll do a better job of scrubbing them.Did that pattern on the eggs come naturally,, or was there something in the coloring kit to do such???
Loooooong ago when I was growing up,, Mom did not have coloring supplies like available now. She boiled the eggs with onion skins. They came out light brown/tan in color.
