Dusk and dawn are the best time of day.

I can only vouch for dusk. At dawn I'm soundly asleep in bed!

Do you all do anything by way of routine to prevent parasites etc? I've read of DE & ACV but have never used either.

I don't have any issues, just wondering. My chickens do take dust baths (inside & outside the run). I've not medicated them or anything either.

I do dust with de periodically. Not as a bird dust though unless I see mites/lice...that's very rare. I turn the dirt in my coops periodically because I believe it keeps it cleaner/healthier and I do dust crevices in wood with de. I use it sparingly though...just the crevices. Seems to work at any rate. I don't give acv regular either. I tried using it myself and felt sick from too much, lol. So again, acv is something I use if I see anything that suggest it would be helpful.

I played chicken tetris and moved all but one chicken out of the greenhouse. Now I need to kidnapp some girlfriends for Frosty roo. Thinking that thru and should gather them up next week.

Honestly our babies had lice from the wild birds and we got this spray that was like chrysanthemum oil and sprayed it on them and their coops. This was a year ago and I haven’t had to use it since!
