Arizona Chickens

I couldn't get the "you need to see this" link to work, was anyone else able to?
I just clicked on it, and it worked.

Worked for me.. I also clicked a link in that posting.. It seemed to be a advertisement for a CERTAIN SURVIVAL FOOD PROCESSOR.
The thing with most of the survival food's that people are selling is that it has been dried, and it will take water to rehydrate it. Most people do not think of the amount of water that they will be needing for rehydrating that. People will also be needing water for drinking.

In this case, I think that canned food would be better to be stocking up on. If you normally buy 1 can of something, buy 1 or 2 extra's to store. Check the expiration dates on your can's, and put the freshest one's in the back on your shelf like they do in the stores. Many canned stuff can be eaten right out of the can in a pinch without even having to be cooked at all, or at least just warmed up.

Got to celebrate with them, then. Are you getting any rain over there yet?
We got a little rain on Saturday night. But that's it since who knows when.

Enjoying this slight respite from the insane heat (and so are the chickens)!

Caught one of my baby girls tucked in the nest box this morning and making some noises. Thought she might be laying her first, but it was a false alarm. (The 2 "littles" are 19 weeks old.)

I'm glad that you at least got something. Yes, it was a bit cooler here this morning after last night's rain. I took care of 5 anthills that were being built in my backyard, and one of them was being built too close to my coop and run for my comfort. At least I have time to do that now since I'm no longer animal sitting for next-door.

Your pullet is practicing on how to be a big girl.
