Pati- I love it!

We have a little tikes playhouse we got at a garge sale for $7. It is quite a bit more beat up than yours. Maybe a lot more beat up

I keep eyeballing it for a second coop, but the kids will still want it for a few more years...**sigh** I am sure I will find some other sort of doodad to make a neato coop out of before then.

I have a gynourmous stainless steel fireplace just sitting in the yard...supposedly it belongs to my FIL, but he was told he was not allowed to store things in my yard anymore....

I think that would be a wickedly funny bantam coop. Or maybe a commercial pizza oven from the scrap yard. Easy access egg doors!!

Maybe an old grand paino. You see those for free on CL pretty regularly...

Maybe Micheal's you know the craft store? That is the only craft store that comes to mind but I know they have things like that and probably not real expensive either. I know there is a Micheal's in the same shopping center as the Deer Valley AMC 30 Movies.

Edit: Wait are you talking about the whole dang corn plant or just the dried corn with the husks still on them? LOL

When I lived in Forest Lakes, I got corn stalks from the folks that had gardens. I made some great teepee's and put them on all the porch posts of my store. Forest Lakes Mercantile. I also got pumpkins and squash. Any how, if you know anyone around that grows corn, you might be able to get some that way.

I want to make those tee pee things for the birds to hide under.... I'm kinda "out of touch" with all the local corn farmers

Maybe I will check Micheal's and see what they have..

You could google for corn u-pick and maybe be able to get some that way. Heck you never know.

Thankyou CheerfulHeart 2. Some times I do go on.

LOL!

Laree, maybe you can talk the kids into having the house for their own baby chicks to live in. Talk about it, and talk about it. you never know.

Congrats on all the first eggs. That is so exciting after waiting and waiting. My EE Cleo, gave me my first Blue egg. She looks just like your girl. Cheeks and all. What a Handsome Roo is is.

When I get the new pen area done I will move the Cochin House Bed & Breakfast (new Name for playhouse) there. I just wonder if I should put a floor in it and if I should put it up off the ground. What do you all think?

I had a buggy for my first 2 kids. It is amazing what you can bolt to them.

Pati-

Nah. I'll let the kids have the playhouse for now.

It isn't cold enought to warrant raising it up, and the thing should be light enought to just pick up and move when it starts to fill with poo. No matter how well I rake, there seems to be poo along the walls--so I wouldn't bother, especially if you are going to add stuff inside which will make raking tough.
