Arizona Chickens

Somewhere, sometime, I have seen a discussion or two on this. Some people seem to have learned how to "help" with good result. I gather that it takes experience to get an eye for "when" and "how". Maybe some creative searching can help you find those threads.

I think it's just broken. . . for a while there, I was getting 2 notices for each new post. . . now none. .. is that called "balancing"?

I live in the Phoenix area. We just got back into chickens, but raised them for years and never misted. We have an open mesh gate on the coop and their little door into the run. There is also a ceiling fan. We planted two trees in the run and will also put up some shade cloth. I have two large waterers that I fill every a.m.

Hi Arizona peeps! I have a broody silkie! I was wondering if anyone in the Tucson area (or within 50 miles or so) has fertile eggs for sale? Egg production, not meat. I'm not sure what type I want yet... I like so many!

sounds like you should be fine. . . shade and water are the keys. . . my girls have several shallow "wading pans" that they love, and when it gets really hot I use frozen "blue ice packs" in them daily. . . they like to stand or lay on the ice. good ventilation is real important, too. . . sounds like you have that. Many of us do not use enclosed coops here. . . mine has 2 sides with just hardware cloth, and the entire area, coop and run , is well shaded.

Uh oh...I am going to have to watch my mouth. We have a Tofuranch AND a TOFU. Bad juju for Laree...

Tofu-heads up if you are confused why we are talking to you about stuff you dont have any idea about

My dad lives in Tucson near Ina and I-10. I live in Mesa. He is coming up weekly for a project right now. I work in Phoenix near Metro center. If you find some eggs up here I could probably pick them up and send them down, but they would be in transit for a day or two. (I would have to get them one day and he would work then come down to Tucson the next.)

There is also Chrystal Gail in Casa Grand. Laree has her info.

Welcome to AZ thread...and yes, we may get you confused with Tofuranch.
