Arizona Chickens

Mornin' all.

Big decision weighing on me today and every day until it gets made...

Sorry about your day, Laree! I hate cuts on the hands. As the mother, it makes everything hard until that owie gets better! Ugh.

Forgot to get Mahonri's rooster off his roost last night and now I must go try to catch him. That'll be fun...

Assuming I can catch him, I will be getting a new pullet in place of him

Like I need any more chickens!

Ugh. Okay, I will spill, but you all better be nice!

My homeschooled son may be entering school in the fall. He is registered at a really good prep school that I have had my eye on for a few years. One is finally opening, with perfect timing, in our area this year. A million fears and a milllion worries are running around in my head and I just haven't gotten them all sorted out. My biggest worry is that he has a medical situation that will make it really difficult for him to keep up with the 3-hours-of-homework-a-night policy, the only part of the school I don't like. I think he will love it and he wants to go. It is just killing me. Sometimes I am very excited for him, but most of the time I want to throw up.

K. there you go. another distraction from work - which I know you seek desperately

I want to do auto water but I haven't decided how yet so for now this was cheap. I like your coop.

Joel David - my DH just make me an auto-waterer. He modified the one shown on the "How To" pages of BYC. He felt like the toilet valve system that that poster used was too complicated. He prepared the bucket with 2 1/2" holes for the chickens to get water from and added an auto fill float/valve thing that is used for swamp coolers and pools. I'll have him write down the parts he used and I'll take pics. It took him maybe 15 minutes to make. We just attached it to a garden hose and it maintains the water level as they drink!

You can always display this situation to the school and ask if maybe he should try the school out for a few months or perhaps if they a "make up" or "study" class available that can take place of an extra class.

Yeah. I have an email in to the headmaster asking for a conference. Don't know if that will happen anytime soon with the construction going on. I think that would make me feel better - to talk to him about it.

Menmyrc - looking forward to the waterer post.

Becky - Can you ask you hubby what that part is called? We used hose thingy's, but they were more than $3 and are the weak part of my system.
