Just steer clear of the cochins unless you don't care if they are really cochins

Yeah, I did that once and the pain never did go away. It's been 7 years. I have to really watch it with my upper back.

Mahonri - I am sure you know what to do, so do it! Take care of it well so it gets better quickly!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Mine is good so far. My DH and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary today.

I got some Buckeye chicks the other day, and all are doing well. My DS and I went to the feedstore today, and my DS said that since we already have chicks in the brooder, we could add a couple more. So, he bought a couple of Americauna chicks and put them in with the others.

Mahroni- you need to take it easy so you can recover faster. Also, my girls have been a little stingy with their eggs ever since we got back from the fair. I have 15 layers and have only been getting 4-8 eggs per day. I don't know what's up with that. The ladies at work have been sending home a lot of veggie and fruit scraps lately, maybe that has something to do with it?

NoSkiveez- congrats on your new little bundle of joy.

newchickmom09- welcome aboard and look forward to reading your posts.

I just have a birthday party tomorrow and the rest of the day is mine, (after I clean the house and do laundry)

My Vicky chicken that I posted about here, died today. She was perfectly fine this morning when Dawn went out and gave the girls some lettuce, an hour before I came home she gave them some sweet potato peels she told me that Vicky didn't seem well I went out and she was dead. The "blister" on her leg hadn't been bleeding and seemed about the same as it was before, I gave it a squeeze and dark blood came out of it. Everyone else is fine. So now in a week and a half my little flock has been reduced by a third and I 'm feeling the need to replace the two that are gone, not sure with what kind of chickens though.

Lots of different breeds, you have so many choices....Of course i am a bit biased, but Cochins are awesome "pets", especially if you have little ones (2 legged)...My 3 year old loves carrying them around and they are very docile and gentle...

I was able to get up, walk around a little, get a drink of H2O out of the fridge... earlier, I took ibuprophen and tylenol hoping that would help... at least I could still get vertical.

Waiting to hear the front door open and close...then back to sleep.
