Arizona Chickens

NoSkiveez, do you mean to keep their heads out of the water, or to keep them from falling in the dish and drowning? I have rocks in there so they can't drown in their dish. I put sugar in their water earlier tonight hoping to give them a little boost. I've never tried the gro gel, I'l lhave to look at it.
thanks for the tips.

That one buff chick was on it's back again a minute ago, just laying there kicking it's legs. It doesn't seem to open it's eyes either. It does walk around some. I don't know, maybe there is something else going on.

I ordered my gro gel from Meyers when my youngins got sick a few weeks back. I got the 2000 dose packet. Its a powder you mix with water and it has vitamins and hydration. It turns into a bright green jelly and they really like it. A tiny bit of the powder gods a very very long way. It was $20 but they have smaller packs for under $5. I arrainge the rocks so they can only get their beak in. The one time I didn't, one of the FBCM drowned.

Today hubby is separating the coop again for frizzles. Hubby thinks one of our Wyandottes we ordered is a roo. I'm not convinced. There is a Wyandotte out there laying eggs and I think its that one. I want to move them out back but hubby swears its a rooster.

Gckoddhouse- My buff and silver polish are molting too. There are feathers everywhere in the coop. We rake them out daily but each day it looks like a bird exploded in there. At first we thought there was fighting going on in there but no one was injured.

i like the buff silkies the best... too bad shes not selling any

There's a Lawn Show in Tucson on Saturday; may be some silkies for sale there. I do know a lady who wants to downsize her flock; very nice birds.

It's that time of the year. I just found a regular sized pillow amount of mostly silkie feathers in the pool

Nope, no drownings or predator situations (unless you cansider a molt to be a preditor

) Just excess feathers from all over the yard.

Put it on a cage by itself on your porch for 24 hours. You should either hear a crow or find an egg
