CA,so sorry to hear about the streak of bad luck with your animals. Sometimes they are just walking vet bills. It is crazy with the medications too. Not quite in the same catigory, but I just had the cats boy bits removed and was impresed with the pain killers/anti-inflammitories now. It is liquid in a tint syrringe and is absorbed in the gums/cheek. No tring to force it down them.

Today I set 115 eggs. I must be insane!

I have a few interesting things going on. I'm bringing home some new quail (hubby is picking them up right now). There are 75 adults and lots and lots (and lots) of youngsters. I'm pretty excited. There are some rare colors that I didn't previously have. I will post some pictures as soon as we get them set up.

In my neck of the woods it's calling for 32 degrees overnight, 20 degrees thursday, 18 on friday, then below freezing temps through at least tuesday.

Just about everyone in the rabbit barn has been given disposable boxes with straw, along with the heater to keep temps acceptable. Of course the newest litter was due to have their nestbox pulled today, but instead I just switched it out again and will leave it until the cooler weather passes.

The chicks are old enough now that the temps aren't too concerning but I'll put a heat light in if needed.

Hoping all the best for those of you experiencing illness or injury. You and your friends are in my thoughts.

Okay, here they are. Hubby has to go back tomorrow for the Shelves and the little chicks. I got to practice my sexing skills and we didn't mess up (thankfully)

NoSkiveez--I am so sorry about your daughter and the young chicken. That would really break my 2nd daughter's heart. Is she doing okay with it now? And I am beginning to question your sanity a little.

115 eggs and about a bazillion quail? Where in the world do you find time to take care of them all with 5 children and homeschooling? You probably don't sleep. A-MAZING!!! What do you do with quail, anyway? Do you raise them for eggs or meat, or just for fun?
