It's been a rough morning. Our silkie rooster went after my daughter pretty badly this morning. I don't get it. He has always been so sweet. After our first rooster turned out to be pure evil and putting up with it for months, I told the girls that we wouldn't do that anymore. If a rooster turned mean, that would be the end of him. But, this rooster has been so nice! He was really picked on at the place we got him from, and maybe that is what made him nice. We put him in with our juvies and he ran around showing them who's boss the whole time. He has had an attitude ever since. He is a little guy and the juvies are bigger breeds. I am hoping that they will get bigger and put him back in his place and he'll be nice again. Do you think that is possible? She said that he flew at her and she kicked him off. Then, he just kept coming and she kicked him off about times. Well, he HATES being picked up. I suggested that she just kick him away once and then run after him trying to pick him up. I think that would send him running and put her back in charge. Is that a good strategy? I really don't want to get rid of him, and he's too small to be great for cooking. There are 7 in my family, and he sure wouldn't go far.
Also, I happen to like him.
