3 or 4 eggs a day per bird!?

Either the chicken's days are more on a martian scale or they all have multi-butts. Collecting eggs then is a full time job I guess... At that rate you could probably just stay at the feed store and watch the eggs plop. If they only have a dozen Wyandottes that would be an average of one egg per 30 minutes

(Assuming 24 hrs in a day).

I've actually heard this a few times. I've told people that really doesn't happen, but many insist it does. I've had a lot of chickens here and never had one lay two in a day. I've had quail lay two in a day but that's due to the lighting I have on them.

People are so funny! I had a friend tell me that her 3 chickens sometimes lay 5 in a day. She thinks her kids are checking for eggs every day, but I gently explained to her that her kids may not be checking very closely sometimes. LOL!! Her kids are pretty rotten with the eggs. My daughter told me that she saw one of the kids get an egg out of the nesting box and just smash it on the wall rather than take it in the house. Oh, well.

Yup. Especially love that whole "3 or 4 eggs a day" thing. Someone told me that too. I just gently bit my lip and decided to buy elsewhere.

Meg:rolleyes:
